Eat Problems for Breakfast.

That’s what he told me. “He” was a friend of mine from Seattle. One of the most prolific, creative individuals I have ever met. The question I asked him was “What is your secret to creativity?” He said that every morning he liked to find different types of problems to solve. Doing this every morning helped him to exercise his problem solving muscles and increased his creativity.

Problem solving is at the heart of design.
The processes are similar even though the mediums may differ. Mobile. Web. Video. Print. They all pose their own challenges, or problems to solve, and that is the heart of what we do as designers.

First and foremost, I am a problem solver. The mediums are intriguing. The technology is fascinating. The possibilities are endless. The processes are similar:

I have applied these methods consistently across my career. From traditional print design to product design. I am a design professional with a drive to build, to learn and to perform. My experience covers global brand and strategy, UX for B2C and B2B, building and running a consumer research lab, (focus groups, UX testing), product design, creative direction for marketing, UX and UI design and growing and mentoring creative organizations.

The only thing I love doing more than building and designing is riding my Moto Guzzi. And cooking. I make a mean Mole.

So what problems can we solve today?
